3rd Annual PhotoWalk 2010

Thursday, August 12, 2010

Save the Ta TasI participated in the 3rd Annual PhotoWalk 2010 put on by the guys at NAPP. There were four "walks" in the Tampa Bay area, my walk was in Ybor (Tampa). Nearly 50 of us met at the beginning of the trolley rail on hot, bright Saturday afternoon. While waiting for the trolley in Centro Ybor I saw this building nearby with old bras hanging down from a string. A bed sheet sign calls the place "La France" "Vintage & Collectible." A smaller sign below it says "Save the Ta Tas." Next stop, Channelside.

St. Petersburg at Dawn

St. Petersburg before dawnI just happened to be in St. Petersburg on this cool March morning before the sun rose up and painted the sky with color. The color was changing fast and fortunately I was positioned nicely behind these palms along the Vinoy basin. I'm using a tripod because of the low light conditions I set my ISO to 1000 and shot this at 2.5 seconds at f25. The high f-stop helps keep a lot in focus but pinches down on the amount of light allowed in the camera, hence the long exposure. The exposure time was not set in stone. It was one I chose and went with.
